THE MUSIC BLOGGING HIVE MIND

Shake Some Action

Posted about 1 year ago
I got these 3 tracks off a blog last year I think. Yesterday I thought "I think I'm ready to buy this compilation today". Well no such luck. This compilation it seems is out of print and impossible to find with a UK/Ireland only release. It must've been limited as they didn't come out that long ago. On Gemm they have some albums ranging from $30-$80. That's just crazy. The compilations are from rare 7"'s from the late 70's to early 80's and feature lesser know songs by powerpop, mod, and new wave bands. I want this compilation series so bad it's freaking me out. I need to hear more. I can't seem to get much info as trying to search only yeilds Flamin' Groovies and some band from Seattle. Do any of you Moggers got any of this series? It looks so awesome to me. I found some lucky guy that has all of the albums and he posted a list of the tracks "here":http://ca.geocities.com/kbd77@rogers.com/punk_comps_sz.html#SSA. He's also got a bunch of cool punk rock and various rock comps as well. I'm so jealous. I want these albums.

  8. Bartleby says My, my... Another musical prone animal. It seems that pop-rock has a special affair with the fauna.

  9. FluxCapacitor says Cheers, some wonderful music here, particularly the Donkeys -- I'll have a search 'round for this since it's in my neck of the woods...
