If you didn't know by now I'm a bigtime junkie for Luke Vibert. The man is a powerhouse. He can't stop producing music in one shape or another. Freshly pressed on wax is his newest album _Chicago, Detroit, Redruth_. This album doesn't fail to please. It's almost a tribute or a kitch reworking of the core elements of Detroit techno and Chicago house. Imagine if you took Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Derrick May, and Frankie Knuckles, put them in a blender, and then poured it over some Luke Vibert waffles. You'd get this album. I can't stop listening to it. It's hypnotic and so groovy. Vibert has such tight and controlled beats. It's no accident if there's a snare here or a high hat there. The man owns the groove and he knows how to work it. Once again he is throwing down some majorly badass acid lines on his tracks. Like the _Benefist_ album as Ace of Clubs he's once again doing something that I wished someone would've done on the dance floor in 1997. It's like taking the smoothest of beats from Soma Quality Recordings and mixing it with the best sounds of Harthouse records. If your at all a techno enthusiast I really recommend this album.
