I made a post on French DJ Doctor L yesterday. I'm quite glad that I got that album. It lead me to an amazing podcast that he and other fellow French DJ's put out fairly regularly. I've gone through two on rare Afrobeat, one on rare Euro soul, a Turkish music one, and an episode on obscure Post Punk. I want every single record of every song these guys put out. It's one of the coolest things I've heard in a while. They also cover other subjects from disco to island music to soundtracks to everything else that's rare and hip. Check it out. I highly recommend it. http://parisdjs.libsyn.com/index.php?post_category=Mind%20DJsAlso, if you haven't heard it yet venture over to this BoingBoing post on Balkan beats. There's quite a few delectable downloads on that page. The "Balkan Bangers" series by Typsy Gypsy is ridiculously good. It's like speed klezmer on crack. Very fun music.http://www.boingboing.net/2007/07/26/mp3-mixtapes-balkan-.htmlAnother good one I've been listening to lately is 75 Minutes. It's a podcast that's 75 minutes long and covers a wide range of brand new independent music. I was very impressed with it's range and it's topics. These guys are on the ball.http://www.75minutes.com/podcast/I know I've mentioned the Polypunk podcast before but episode 20 was crazy awesome. My new music mission is to get a copy of _Mirror of Inifinity_ by Moebius so I can listen to their version of "Light My Fire" over and over and over and over again. Check out that episode "here":http://www.maudevintage.com/castellane/digiki/polypunk/POLYPUNK020.mp3. The song in question is track 10.So there's some links for you. Hope you enjoy them.

I'm really looking forward to checking out the Paris DJ's podcast. I lost all my previously downloaded podcasts when I lost that hard drive full o' music a few months ago, and I haven't renewed my subscriptions to any yet. This shall be the first. I think the problem for me is that it's almost too much to take. I have so much music that I need to spend more time with, but I can't stop getting more! I know you know the feeling.

I thought of you specifically when I found the Paris one. It's crazy awesome. Looks like they've put it out for a couple of years now. It all is too much to deal with. I'm trying to step back on my podcast listening but I keep finding cool ones to subscribe to. I've got a problem. :)

I haven't been able to keep up with MOG lately now you throw this at me, I've just downloaded about 5 hrs of these podcasts and I haven't finished yet. I feel a hibernation coming on.

I've got at least 2gb's on my iPod right now. It's crazy good stuff. That Balkan one is insane fun. Makes you want to drink lots of vodka and hop around in a circle all night.

Incredible trove. Unfortunately, I've so much music I haven't given enough attention to. I'll bookmark your post to revisit at a later date. I'll have some time off in 2 weeks and hopefully enough time to catch up on my music and readings.
So many pods and only two ears ;)

Just had a quick look at the Paris DJs site - looks like a complete treasure trove of stuff. Thanks for the heads up Sam. Going to have to spend a bit of time exploring this one at some point.
