Just wanted to point this track out. It's awesome. It's in m4a format so I hope your computer can read that. Here is the "Cowboy Song":http://socalledmusic.com/mp3s/cowboysong.m4a. It's freakin cool. "Socalled":http://www.socalledmusic.com/ makes hiphop with jewish and klezmer music. Awesome in my book. Check it out.

I'm a tad bit obsessed with Japanese music. I'm not a fan of extreme Japanese pop but I do like to hear what the kids over there are listening to these days. "Neomarxisme":http://neomarxisme.com/ is a blog that covers a good deal of Japanese art and politics. That's not his main focus but it's mostly that. He also makes music. He's got a couple of mix tapes that he's posted on his website....

This is another one of my favorites from 2005. It's a Swedish duo. The guy who sings on this album is almost a dead ringer for "Stephen Merritt":http://www.houseoftomorrow.com/ of Magnetic Fields and Future Bible Heroes fame. The music isn't entirely like Stephen Merritt but it does have a lot of the same charm for me. The group uses a lot of keyboards and various other instruments. It's a...

I kept questioning him, probably alienated him ...

Ok melmaples. Here's a sample of some recent lists. Some of these are artists that I still need to research. The ones I highlight with black are ones that I definitely want to get. Some are just songs I want. Others are just blogs I wanted to check out, books to read, record labels to check out, websites, or podcasts that I want to listen to. All kinds of stuff. It's always a work in pro...

I know I will never be able to hear every album, but I want to. Like the crazy person I am I keep spreadsheets of all of the music, artists, albums, and whotnot I want to hear. I've probably got around 10,000 or more logged albums that I want to hear. I'm constantly learning something new that I want to hear. I've got to hear it. I need to hear it. I have to suck it into my brain and assi...

Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom Heart, Senor Coconut, Lassigue Bendthaus, and around 60 other aliases) joins Bernd Friedmann (aka Burnt Friedman, Nonplace Urban Field, and others) to create some seriously spacey Electro Glitch Jazz on this album. It was released in 2001 on Ninja Tune records. It's an amazing album drawing on hard bop, free jazz, latin jazz, and samba. They took all of these elements and
