  3. fairportfan says I think this book is the equivalent of a Rolex - you don't buy a Rolx because you need to keep track of what time it is, you buy a Rolex so you can silently remind people "I can afford to spend this muchmoney on a writswatch and you can't." OTOH: DC Comics is in process of re-releasing the entire twelve-year run of Will Eisner's classic, incredibly influential comic *The Spirit* (as well as doing a comic with new stories that isn't nearly as good as the original but still better than almost anything else out there). Beautiful, large books, each comic-book page reprinted about 25% oversize on good heavy paper so we can really see the artwork. Six months at a clip. Which means like twenty-four volumes. At a cover price of $60. And i want them. (Well, i could prolly skip the first two or three - Eisner didn't really hit his stride for a year or so.)
