Aouch! That had to hurt!
Well, yes, dear.
It's what we call a "joke". See, it says "Most effective method of birth control known to man", and when he put in his quarter...

My sister sent me that one - she seems to think of me in cat terms.
I wish i could find the post card she sent me manymany years ago, saying the cat on it reminded her of my attitude toward the world:
A fairly high-contrast B&W photo of a large long-haired black cat who had apparently just been flea-dipped; someone was holding him round the body under the arms, so his front legs stuck straight out, and he was just this bedraggled black shape with these flaming eyes staring straight into the lens.
It was fairly obvious what, at least at that exact moment, that cat longed to do to *any* human he came in contact with...

hahaha but but but you look so kind and peaceful; when you're not being evil, that is.
The cat in your current avatar is just so pink and puffy and bitchy! (if a cat can actually be bitchy)

My sister once wrote a poem that described each member of our family metaphorically - when she got to me it was something like "screaming at the darkness because they won't let him out"...
MOG mostly sees my happy side.
The world mostly sees my happy side.
A very few people see the side of me that might drag me down if i didn't have a prescription for citalopram...
As so often when i feel it coming on, *Dory Previn* says it so much beter than i ever could:
for sylvia, who killed herself in 1963
i have been
where sylvia's been
she did not survive
i came back
from where she was
i'm still
half alive
i saw all
that sylvia saw
both our minds
were burned
she went closer
to the sun
she did not
return
sylvia soared
on wings of fear
i flew too
but not so far
sylvia strayed
sylvia stayed
too long
sylvia shaped
and sculpted poems
from the granite
of a star
all that i
could do was try
to carve a simple song
her light
was bright as
seraphim
my candle-wick
was dim
yet we both felt
our spirits melt
'neath sun
without a scrim
i envied sylvia
ariel eyed
and one of us
one of us
died.
