So here's the Fairport Essential Tracks List

Posted about 1 year ago
Well, there was a long, enthralling story of how i found the True Fairport Way and like that, but i accidentally wiped it before i could publish it.Aren't you lucky.Anyway, here's the list of what i consider essential tracks to get a real feel for Fairport Convention; basically these are what i consider to be the significant tracks from the albums they released 1967 to 1979, before going on hiatus for a few years. There are two versions (both PDF files): one, "*with cover shots of all the albums, and fancy front and back covers*":http://electronictiger.net/avail/fairportlist.pdf, is Really Pretty, but it runs about 900K[see the covershot above]. The other one, "*a text-only version*":http://electronictiger.net/avail/fairport_txt.pdf, is only about 90K. Personally, after all the work i put into it, i think you ought to download the pretty one if your connection is fast enough...

  1. fistula spume says How cool is that. I like the one with pictures. Very nice. I'm going to dig out my tracks that go with this and give it a go. I'll let you know when I get done going through it. Great job!

  4. Dave says That's cool. I gave myself a project a couple years ago: to reassemble the "Fairport Chronicles" compilation double-LP album I used to have on vinyl back in the day. It took forever to find a couple tracks, but I eventually succeeded. Love Fairport, and of course "I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight" is a Desert Island Disc.
