And so the Dixie Chicks win all five awards Grammies they were nominated for, including "Best Song" for "Not Ready to Make Nice".Take that, Clear Channel! On their first US tour after Natalie Said That Stuff, they played to a sellout crowd at Philips Arena here in Atlanta.Someone booed, and Natalie smiled out over the audience, and said, "Go ahead and boo - you paid us sixty bucks for the privilege..."

  2. Scarlett Echo says I've nothing against the Dixie Chicks. I thought the blacklash on Natalie speaking her mind was indicative of this continent going down the toilet. However, there is no way in hell The Dixie Chicks deserved to win the awards they did outside of the country categories and the award-overkill was a political statement, not a musical one. So for that, I boo the Grammys. Pathetic.

  3. fairportfan says Yeah, well, they're not even really a country act any more. So you believe what you want to believe, and i'll believe what i want to believe.

  5. fairportfan says They're moving away from country; they've gone to a rock produder. They're about as much country as, say, Linda Ronstadt. Of course, in my opinion, very few of the radio-friendly "country" acts these days are truly "country"; more like light rock/country. If the Eagles started out today, they would pretty much be "country" as defined by "country" radio these days. In his latter years, Johnny Cash was being prety much ignored by the country establishment, anmd had to go to a hard-rock label and producer to get any respect. Why? Because he was really country and didn't fit the formats.

  6. RGM says I'm not into them or will never in Zoroster's Name ever Buy any of their Music....But on the same note I have to admit they are good, and have a lot of talent. A lot more than me I have to admit, wish I had a pubic hair talent of theirs....
