MOG MOG

WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

This is just too good.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band plays the Kinks' Complicated Life. (A link to the PHJB's page, which includes the video.)

And it's a great video; a quick, rather surreal video tour through the Quarter.

Absolutely charming, Ray Davies and Preservation--who woulda thunk? (Yeah, I know he spent some time in New Orleans.) BerkBob

Those are a lot of fun. It's good that the PHJB has some new blood in it. It's also fun to see music videos that don't have endless fast cutting, and that show you a neighborhood smoothly.

Well, Ray's writing - "Complicated Life" in particular - has always had a jazz element, just as it sometime includes blus, skiffle, country and Big Band influences. (The "Come Dancing" riff is dead-nuts perfect Big Band shtick...)

Oh - and notice that the guy on the bike is a "Guest Vocalist".
