The Preservation Hall Jazz Band covers ... the Kinks

Posted about 1 year ago
This is just *too* good. The *Preservation Hall Jazz Band* plays the Kinks' "*Complicated Life*":http://www.preservationhall.com/video/index.htm. (A link to the PHJB's page, which includes the video.)And it's a great video; a quick, rather surreal video tour through the Quarter.

  4. Spike says Those are a lot of fun. It's good that the PHJB has some new blood in it. It's also fun to see music videos that don't have endless fast cutting, and that show you a neighborhood smoothly.

  5. fairportfan says Well, Ray's writing - "Complicated Life" in particular - has always had a jazz element, just as it sometime includes blus, skiffle, country and Big Band influences. (The "Come Dancing" riff is dead-nuts perfect Big Band shtick...)
