Moggin' for the Weekend

Artist:
I think I mentioned before that I'm an English teacher and the director of a writing studio at a technical college (?) --- Well, one of my latest interests is the effect of music on student writers and/or tutors in the studio as they work together or alone. Today, I played classical piano in the background as I worked with a student writing a reaction paper on evolution for her biology class. We were talking about how certain repetitive influences or changes in medical technology may be continuing to make evolutionary changes in human beings (for example, one scientist wonders if caesarean sections may over time create an adaptive change in fetal size), and I began to ponder how listening often to music such as Debussy's "Claire de Lune" might affect a writer's brain in the more immediate sense and in the long term. Deep thoughts for a Friday at lunch time, but there you have it. Whatever you are regularly listening to, dear Moggers, may have a remarkable effect on not only your brain but the human brain in general, in the long run. I'm hoping that Debussy is making me more emphathetic, generous, thoughtful, enigmatic, bright, and oh yeah, financially successful. Happy weekend to you all.
