for this year's Mosaic Music Fest i went for Sondre Lerche and the Faces Down..
and it was FANTASTIC. far far cry frm Yo La Tengo last yr. he managed to get our usually stuffy audience up on our feet and dancing away to Phantom Punch.. and singing along to Sleep on Needles (which was totally awesome even though i was surrounded by older folks who clearly didnt know the lyrics to his songs..)
and he played almost ALL my favourite songs, so i'm happy. LOVED the extended jam session of Dead Passengers. the Faces Down are excellent.
and totally fangirly of me, but we queued for his autograph. no time for pics, but i managed to exchange a couple of words with him. :))
so now, i want to watch Dan In Real Life. haha. and i cannot wait for baybeats and next's yr's lineup!
but I really don't like Radiohead.
Which is a waste because I really want to like them, but I've tried and tried and I still can't get into them. i love Fake Plastic Trees and Black Star like the next person, but I just cannot stand Thom Yorke's voice- it's just too nasal for me.
Its almost ridiculous because I've just heard In Rainbows. I liked it.. until Thom starts singing. :((

That's fine. We all like what we like. It's not mandatory to like Radiohead :) I like them but, as a friend of mine says, I have more respect than love for them.
normally I don't listen to instrumental-type music, but I've just discovered Four Tet and they rock! Especially My Angel Rocks Back and Forth. :) wanted to upload the song, but somehow its just taking too long. too bad.

i just discovered four tet last month. i like what i have heard so far. too bad the song upload didn't work out. perhaps it wasn't a file that mog recognizes. the mog play is pretty finicky. i read in a MOGazette a few issues back about exactly what kind of mp3 it will accept. it had to be the right bit rate if i remember correctly. you could look it up in the Gazette archive, i'm sure. (the link is at the bottom of most mog pages)
hmm i actually think its just my internet browser being retarded more than anything else.. but thanks anyway:)

he wrote pretty much the entire soundtrack for the movie! including a duet with Regina Spektor. heh.
no way! i love her too. speaking of, when is she going to come out with a new album? last thing i heard from her was a free single from itunes called "new year's day" or something like that. it left me hoping there is a new album on the way.
