This is my favorite song off of 'A Ghost is Born.' I cannot figure out why. Part of me thinks that it just sounds a bit like a camp song I used to sing back when I was 14, but who knows.
Saw Wilco at Look Park. That Jeff Tweedy really blows my hair back, as did the 40-year-old mom who was moving and shaking in front of me like it was nobody's business.
And frankly, it wasn't anybody's business. But hers.
I wrote a mog about Bag of Toys from the Zunes commercial, but then Mog decided to do maintenance in the middle of my post.
Lame. I still have the link of the poster though:
Apparently corn bread is two words. I never knew that. Word tends not to be the linguistic genius it thinks it is though.
Anywho, Dave and Tim was great at UMass last night. Got me ready for the summer.
Dave must have been on drugs. He kept rambling about having a "fe-vah," but he mostly sounded well, retarded.
Tim Reynolds is an amazing guitar player. I cannot fathom how someone can be so good at something like that. All I am good at is writing and bitching and sometimes I fail at both of those.
I discovered Aqualung's new song this weekend. And by discover, I mean I actually listened to the radio for once. Since I work in radio, I hate listening to it and I don't work for what I consider cool stations (WXNR or WBOS). I just work for B.104.7 in Syracuse and well, country's country, but after a long day it all sounds the same to me.
But I digress, Aqualung's new song is just the type of thing I was hoping he would be when he first came out. I got thrown off by the comparison MTV made of him to Coldplay. I like Coldplay as much as the next person, but I walked out of their last concert after I heard "Yellow," because I didn't go to see a light show or to rock out with a bunch of 14 year-olds who were feeling their first buzz (I had free tickets, so I'm not just a brat).
What was I talking about again? Right, Aqualung. Soo his new song was not as grainy as "Easier to Lie," which is the song that made me stop listening to him in the first place. So I am excited to hear his new CD.
I also heard Corinne Bailey Rae for the first time in the States this weekend. She was/is wicked popular in London, but I had forgotten about her since I've been back. Her sound is just right for a summer day so I don't know, I think I might just buy her album.
We'll see.
I'm going to try and post Dave's "Corn Bread" song because it reminds me of "Lousiana Bayou" and I think I like where he's going with this new Southern thing he's been doing.
*Correction: I was right the first time, cornbread = one word.
