You know what the problem is with seeing Foo Fighters at a small, intimate venue? Everything is pretty much downhill from there. (Although if that's the least of my worries, I'll take it.)To warm up for their opening support slot for The Police at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, June 23rd, the Foo Fighters decided to hold a secret gig at a Tarzana bar/club on Thursday, June 21st. So there were 2 ways you can get in:1) Reply to the email with the correct answers, be chosen, find Flynn at a Balboa Park parking lot, and obtain directions and wristband for you and a guest.2) Line up early enough if you happen to be in the neighborhood.Luckily for the 100 or so Foo fans who got chosen (such as myself) we didn't have many regular patrons to contend with in getting inside before the bar reached maximum capacity.
Foo Fighters didn't need a warm-up - the show was fuckin' awesome. My friend and I were by the stage on Chris' side because the 20 or so people ahead of us already claimed front and center. We can't complain - it was a great spot. They played a lot of songs, but not everything they had planned on
the setlist (it was hella hot once they took the stage; that may have been the cause). However, we did get a chance to hear a new song called "Cheer up boys, your make-up's running" which rocked \m/ and I'm looking forward to it once it's released. I think you can find video of it (from the show) somewhere on YouTube. As for my videos - and additional photos - you can
find them here.
