WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT

i've got the blues ;)

so i'm starting to regret leaving my guitars at home and not bringing them to my dorm. playing about once a month when i go home is not enough for me. but then again, if i had them here i would always be violating the quiet code (not that i really care). more importantly though, i wouldn't do any schoolwork. i would just always play music. that i actually do care about, because i need to keep up my grades or else i lose my scholarship. and that's not really an option. (i would have trouble fitting guitars in here anyway cuz this place is teeny-weeny (nice word choice right?))so for right now, listening to other guitarists is the only other choice i have. some of my favorite guitarists: john frusciante, b.b. king, eric clapton, stevie ray vaughan, angus young, carlos santana, and i can't overlook the legendary jimi hendrix :) b.b. king is such a genius when it comes to the blues and he collaborates with a lot of other great artists as well (willie nelson, eric clapton, bonnie raitt, tracy chapman) . "deuces wild" is an amazing album (he was my first concert). and eric clapton has so many great songs that they aren't all on one "greatest hits" album. to get all my favorites i had to buy "clapton chronicles" and "time pieces." i'm still constantly finding new stuff from stevie and jimi.. john too :) "pride and joy" might be my favorite from stevie ray, but it always changes... jimi has too many, but i really love the beginning of "voodoo chile". i'm hoping to buy "curtains "by john tomorrow, and i'll see what other albums of his this store has (the last one only had niandra lades and usually just a t-shirt). actually i think i might spend a good amount of time looking for new music in general. i haven't really bought much lately. angus young has such an energetic live performance... ok, energetic is not the word haha (explosive?). and santana does some pretty cool collaborative work, like b.b. king. and he blends so many genres: salsa, blues, jazz, etc. these guitarists make me feel something through their music... isn't that what it's all about? :)
