ARRGGHHso i wrote a big long mog about my favorite band ever and then i messed the whole thing up. so here it goes again.when i was 15 or 16 i happened to catch a band called sweep the leg johnny at a house show in dayton ohio. they floored me 100% and became my favorite band in the history of music that very night. the show was in a moldy dirt floor basement in a crusty neighborhood. frontman and saxophonist, steve sostak, had his microphone cord draped over a waterpipe due to a lack of mic stands. this created a strange problem when the mic began to slip but steve didnt let this bother him he began to move his feet apart and lean forward. by the time the sax line was done he was almost doing the splits with his face on the floor. he began singing from this position before fixing the mic cord. also, i think i saw video of this but it might have been a dream a friend of mine was there so i know it happened, but i heard that at hellfest guitarist chris daly climbed his amplifiers and climbed into a whole in the ceiling while playing guitar. the ceiling gave way and he fell, but he was still playing. after breaking up steve and chris went on to play in a band called check engine. check engine was awesome. the not so awesome part is the fact that i have to use the past tense when i talk about how awesome they were.moments ago i found out that steve sostak's current project, ZZZZ, is playing one final show and calling it quits. i never got the chance to see or even here this band and i feel cheated. so if anyone can figure out how to get me to chicago on the 29th of november, please let me know fast.sweep the leg johnny and all of the musicians involved with the band and other sweep related projects will forever hold a place in my musical heart.cheers to: steve sostak, chris daly, john brady, scot anna, and mitch cheney
