farrah on 45
-
Artist:Jean-Paul Vignon & Farrah Fawcett Majors
-
Track:You
I don't see that anyone else has posted this song, and I didn't want the tributes to Farrah Fawcett to omit her ephemeral recording career. "Career' is overstating it, I realize.
On 'You,' Farrah does an sultry whispery recitation, accompanying singer Jean-Paul Vignon. Serge and Jane it is not, and it may never have come out in the U.S. had Farrah not become the ubiquitous pin-up of the '70s, but I thought a few of you might want to hear it.
My strong hunch is that she is lip-syncing here:

MOG it up!

We have that 45 in the studio and play it every once in a while on the air. We still get requests to play it on a regular basis. In Hawaii, back during the first season of "Charlie's Angels", that single was all over the radio dial. A regional hit that Hawaii embraced.
Farrah will be missed.
The Time Machine, you're lucky the station gives you the freedom to play such a unique variety of recordings.
emscee, "You" was the opposite of the hip-hop formula of having female vocals with male rapping. I have a strong weakness for breathiness. Farrah and Joe were having real fun.
Yeah, if there were stations like the Time Machine available in the Philadelphia area, I might still be listening to radio.
Boy, Farrah wasn't even a good whisperer...
