SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

90s country, or, I don't care how uncool I am

Posted over 3 years ago
So. Last week I saw Mark Chesnutt for free at the Sioux Empire Fair (I love Sioux Falls), and so now his music is my current obsession. Seeing him live (and for FREE, no less!) just reminded me of how many good songs he has, and his voice really is incredible. It's no frills, no gimmicks, heartbreaking country beautiful.I don't care how uncool it makes me, I like country music. My favorite is country that came out in the early 90's, and Mark Chesnutt is of that era. His song "I'll Think of Something" reminded me of why I learned to love that genre all over again. Hearing it live made me cry. If you want a song that'll rip your heart out, that's the one.I found "Longnecks and Short Stories" used at my fave CD place--along with, by the way, Johnny Cash's "At Folsom Prison." They're both winners. Score!

  1. Puchembo says Are you pretty much country music only? Because there is a thriving underground Hardcore/Emo scene going on there. Puchembo
