It's morning, I'm at work and I'm hungry-but I'm thinking about deejaying. I do miss it and I hate to say what I miss more is accolades for being a good dj. I mean, that's why we do it isn't it? I mean other than sharing music with others. We can do that via a blog like this or some other form. But being a dj brings something different to the task-whether it's bringing atmosphere to a bar or to a dancefloor. Since I've been out of a gig for so long, I've had a nice bit of a break. But I think I'm ready to start something up again soon. To keep my chops up to date, I'm going to start posting some of my mixes here. I'm looking forward to at least having somewhat of an audience and hopefully sussing out what people think about what I have to offer.
In the meantime, here's a song I've been dying to play in a set. Weird War are such an amazing band. In fact everything Ian Svenonius does is amazing-whether it's the Make-Up, Weird War, Nation of Ulysses or producing Slant 6.

Just curious to find out what people think about the "hipster" culture that has been going on for the past few years or so. It seems to be losing steam around here, but also seems to have been a detriment to the "indie" (see: underground) music scene. Give me feedback! :)
