WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

So Long Tower Records...

Posted over 2 years ago
So, I knew Tower Records has been going out of business, but for some reason I had a giant brain fart and the fact that they have been trying to clear everything out by drastically slashing prices kind of flew past me these past few weeks. Fortunately, I pulled my head out of my bum and the hubby and I went to the Tower in Santa Monica on Saturday. We made out like bandits. Going-out-of-business sales are the perfect opportunity to indulge in guilty pleasures. Take Gene Loves Jezebel... perfect 80's sleaze-cheese, but since they are in no great demand, who in their right mind would wanna pay $18? But for $3... SOLD! There were even cd's and dvd's slashed to 99 cents! We got 9 cd's for about $40... things we'd been curious about but didn't want to risk buyer's remorse at the time of release, things we'd lost from various loans or relocations, things from long ago that we'd regretted not owning, stuff now out of print, etc. Tower Records loss is our family's gain! Run don't walk!

  4. Viva La Britt says That's great, man! As I posted the above comment, I was wondering how your show went. Hmm, I did sign up and make the cut, but I have to be a crazy work early the next morning...I'm hoping to cook up a plan to make it all work!

  6. mutterimieli says Ahhh...moment of silence for the stomping grounds of my youth .. :::heavy sigh:: I should go back and see if they've slashed prices again because when I went a couple of weeks ago prices still weren't that great. Thanks for the update.
