I found a great CD cebrating 25 years of music from the Muppets. It's absolutely fantastic. A few years ago I got see a retrospective on Jim Henson's career at BAM and that guy had some helluva taste especially for jazz and avant garde stuff and it really translates to the shows and movies.

I have a big love for The Muppets.

While I don't have all kinds of Muppet memorabilia, I did buy one of these Kermit photo puppets for $200 last year and he compliments my living room quite well.

I also have a friend who is a professional puppeteer and has worked on Sesame Street, The Puzzle Place, Bear in the Big Blue House, Book of Pooh, Between the Lions and most recently on It's a Big Big World. And back in 1999, when he was working on Muppets From Space in Wilmington, NC, my sister and I went for a weekend visit and got to spend a day at the studio where they filmed, tour the sets, be present at the daily rushes, etc. Probably the coolest part of the visit was getting to talk with Steve Whitmire and Brian Henson, see all the classic Muppets up close and see Dave Goelz talk to a little girl on the set with the Gonzo puppet on his hand, while he was in full view.

Last summer, I got on-stage at a local open-mic night and performed The Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" using the voices of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Rowlf, Gonzo and others. The crowd ate it up, so when I was later asked back to perform at a "best of open-mic" night, I performed CCR's "Down on the Corner" and The Marshall Tucker Band's "This Ol' Cowboy" under the influence of The Muppets.

Finally, a friend at work sent me this link the other day, saying this shirt would probably be something I would like (I imagine you might dig it, too!)
