People were rightfully blown away when they saw Sting perform "Roxanne" and "Message In A Bottle" in the 1982 Amnesty International Benefit concert/film "The Secret Policeman's Other Ball". It really pushed Sting's legend up a bunch of notches. But when I saw the film, the performance that blew me away the most was this one - Jeff Beck performing his classic "Cause We've Ended As Lovers". Eric Clapton backs him up, but he stays in the background, which is no surprise, because on this performance, Jeff Beck goes to another galaxy of tone and feel. If you appreciate great guitar playing with stunning emotional content, you just have to watch this clip. No one on earth has ever made a Fender Telecaster sound like this before or since, except maybe Jeff Beck :-)Do yourself a favor and watch this clip!"Cause We've Ended As Lovers" from The Secret Policeman's Other Ball Soundtrack - an essential 80's track!

Not to take anything away from Jeff Beck because, in the words of Will Smith from "Men in Black," . . . damn. But there is no way Beck would have ever gotten laid without that guitar.
