Driving around a rented car in the Hollywood Hills in 1989, after midnight, I scanned the radio looking for something other than Paula Abdul, Guns & Roses, or Salt N Pepa. Suddenly I stumbled across this melody of simple chords, repeating in this hypnotic pattern, and these voices repeating "she's making it all come true this time" over and over again. It was the perfect soundtrack to my first journey up on Mulholland Drive, and I wanted to know who the band was, because I was absolutely going to buy that record. Wouldn't you know, the DJ didn't back announce the record, so for the rest of my trip, I sang that lyric to everyone I knew, hoping somebody knew what that tune was. Finally, someone told me it might be from World Party's album "Private Revolution" - and sure enough, the song was "All Come True". It's a great song, from a great album - another essential 80's track!

no doubt, how can you not love this? aww, this reminds me of the old friend who introduced me to this band. Charles Cloninger, where are you? He told me, "If you don't appreciate World Party you have no pop sensibility in yoiur bones, girl!"
kisses Charles, wherever you are, and thanks ebuzz.

I was all over this when it came out! It got me turned on to the Waterboys who shares bands members with World Party. Thanks for posting this. Reminds me of hungover drives through Germany. Listening to this on a Sunday, slightly dirty, stinking of bars and sweat in a small old BMW, rain pelting the windshield and me squinting, wishing I had replaced the wipers when I had the chance.
