Over the next year, we're going to see some great new DVD packages to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner". A remastered DVD was in fact put out last week, and in 2007 there will be a "Final Cut' with all sorts of extras including deleted scenes.The sound will be a lot better, which is good news, because I love the soundtrack, performed by Vangelis. It sounded futuristic back in 1982, and yet has aged pretty well considering. The CD is superb, featuring full length versions of songs we only hear bits of in the film. If you haven't heard the CD, you're missing something, if you haven't seen the movie, there should be a pretty big campaign around the "Final Cut" next year. Vangelis Papathanassiou is one of the biggest,most important Greek music composers (me happy now).
