OK, so everyone knows OMD's (Orchestral Manoeuvers In The Dark) "If You Leave" from the "Pretty In Pink" soundtrack. Although that was their biggest hit, it also signaled the end of their artistic credibility. Their earlier stuff always had elements of pop, but was a lot more experimental. Their 1981 album "Architecture & Morality" had a bunch of standout tracks, but my fave is "Souvenir". It may sound familiar to those of you who like Moby as he covered it pretty faithfully a few years ago. 25 years old but it's still a great pop song.OK, that's three to start - hope you liked them!

I actually saw them live in 1985 or 1986 I think??? On "The Pacific Age" tour. They were super popped out, kinda Duran Duran-ish. Bummed me out a little. Can't have bands that are too happy, it's a BAD sign (unless it's The Wiggles.)
One of my fave OMD tunes is "Women III" - if I can find a video of it, there will be a post about that one somewhere down the line.

Yeah, that one prolly would have been a bummer. I really didn't like "The Pacific Age". I got to see them open for Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl, and they played the whole "Best Of" album, starting with "Enola Gay".

damn. i'm jealous. that's like an "I was at Woodstock" level of cred.
i'll really be impressed if you were one of the kids rioting outside that instore appearance that got cancelled in LA.
