MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album: This Is Ska And Reggae Roots
Track:
(48)

I think I may have finally found a use for MOG, which I seem to abandon every few months for lack of anything to do with it.

So while I sort through all the old music I've got sitting around that no one seems to have heard and start ripping some of my Dap-Tone stuff to the computer, have a song everyone seems to be vaguely aware of but never really heard.

So that's the sound that Jawaiians and Jamoans seek. Out here in the Pacific, I could rip a local 2006, 2007 or 2008 music CD release and guarantee that no/few on this website have ever heard of the artist. ("Hawaiian" is a tiny party of "World," and the U.S. Grammy voters have these slack key blinders on when they vote.) If I want to connect with a more cosmopolitan set of music fans, last.fm listeners have heard of Barefoot Natives, Taimane Gardner, Opihi Pickers, etc. Oh well, I'm not cool, and I've set iTunes to play tunes on the computer at random, to support "Hawaiian" musicians who get lost in the noise.

this is in fact a very strong track and of course on everybody needs to know. if you are into the specials i recommend "the best of fun boy three&the specials" with all these hits like "our lips are sealed", "man at C&A", "gangsters","Lunatics" and so on

I've never been nearly as awed by The Specials as a lot of ska people seem to be, but "Ghost Town" is just plain excellent. I've heard most of their stuff and it's the only track to really stick with me.
