I Am Inescapably Southern

Since moving to Arizona, everyone has found my tendency to call everyone sir or ma'am, open doors for women, eat stuff they refuse to touch, and dress the way I do mildly amusing. Fuck it. The foods better and so is the accent.
Another side-affect of this essential southerness seems to be the tendency to get a pit of blues and rockabilly in my garage and punk. Unfortunately, these bands don't tend to last. The New Bomb Turks and Blues Explosion are long dead, The Reigning Sound and Heavy Trash don't seem to be recording for the past few years, and Sympathy for the Record Industry is no more. But here's something from Sympathy's death throes, The Soledad Brothers (also split up, now) "Shakey Puddin' " from the Root Damage compilation, which doesn't seem to have ever shown up anywhere else I've found.
So enjoy a brilliant fuckign opening followed by a whole lot of innuendo. Because what's Rock N' Roll without the sex and drugs?
(As an aside, that reminds me of the one thing Nick Cave has done that I love. When an interviewer asked why Rock N' Roll was dead, his response? "I don't know, maybe it's because you can't smoke in a bar anymore.". As much as I like goign home nto smelling like an ash tray, this is very likely true.)
