WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Locally Accepted, Internationally Respected

Posted about 1 year ago

A bit of a reclamation project, as I can't be fuckign bothered to put the whole thing back togther, so this'll be a bit quicker and less precise than before MOG ate it.

Bands/Albums I've been feeling a bit of a need to import:

PRE - Epic Fits: Great name for an album. "Exceedingly Good Keex" is a good nickname for a girl with an accent who seems to habitually sport Chucks. I can go in for a bit of the noiserock, even if they are a bit uneven. Cue video:

The Prototypes - Anything by them: Because they're quite good. I've had some of their stuff sitting on my computer for a few years now, but had entirely forgotten about them until I heard "Je Ne Te Connais Pas" turn up in a commercial the other day. Shouldn't have forgotten them, because they're catch, poppy, elctrosomethingy, and I don't mind not understanding things in French. (Grew up in south Louisiana. Yay for the bastardisation of French that is Cajun) And go for visual:

Los Peyotes - Introducing Los Peyotes: Garage punk with a touch of surf rock? Fuck yeah! In Spanish? Don't care! And go:

Wild Billy Childish & the Musicians of the British Empire - Thatcher's Childen: Because almost any record Billy Childish puts out is going to be worth listening to. For me, its that simple. Cue best mustache:

And I think the last album that was on here is about to get it's whole own thing, since the artist seems to not turn up anywhere on MOG, which is really surprising and I want to remedy that.

the artists on mog are dictated by what's at www.allmusic.com - we license their database.

so, if they're not on a label, we don't have it. allmusic pretty much has all indy labels though....

I think you sort of missed my point. I'm just surprised there've been no posts about him yet, as the album is wonderful, his second album, and I know it's been making the rounds a bit because I can remember reading a few articles about him before I ever heard it.

I just always assume I must be the last person to have heard stuff and was surprised to learn that there wasn't as much hype about the guy as I'd thought there was.
