Dear Times New Viking,Your album is depressingly shit. I am actually angry at the people who told me I should listen to it, sad for not trusting in Record Store Girl when she said it was awful, and hoping that there's at least a bit of redemption to be found in your first two albums.I'm normally a bit less blunt about music I don't like, but the thing that pisses me off isn't that the music is bad. Through the haze of what seems to be someone in the band acquiring a Fuzzbox and deciding to play with their new toy, I can hear a few songs I actually like, if I could hear them.It's not low-fi production. It's not production done on the cheap because it had to be. It's people who have no idea that they are not fucking Sonic Youth. It's not cutte or clever or avant-garde. It's not even noise rock. It's someone playing decent poppy rock through, I can only assume, the drive-through speaker at a fuckign McDonald's.I'll go be less angry now.
