Most people who know about Jonathan Coulton have heard of him because of his cover of Baby Got Back. His version is well-done, but the folked-out rap song in general is a bit of a gimmick. I like this track of his much better, it comes more from himself and his experience in his former job as a programmer.

This is another one in my series of singer-songwriters who do not get the recognition they deserve. This track by Billy Gill is a very raw but very powerful indictment of the policies of the current US administration. I don't know if this was a live recording or something he did in a home studio, but Gill's anger at what has been done and sorrow for its innocent victims just drip from his delivery

The proposed law that would have effectively shut down small independent music venues, and significantly hampered events at larger ones like Schuba's, has been sent back to committee to be reworked.
