Counting Crows - August and Everything After

Posted 10 months ago

I recently perused the CD shelf of a local Half Price Books looking for a replacement copy of the brilliant national debut album from the Counting Crows, August and Everything After. I did not find it, but was lucky enough to find the Willie Nelson Box Set, Legend, for a true half-price cost. Never having been one to be easily deterred from a musical quest, I traversed the lot to enter the local Hellgate, Wal-Mart Supercenter. Fortunately, I live in an area where the local Wally World has not yet evolved to the zoo-like chaotic state surely experienced by many fellow Moggers while bargain-seeking. Luckily I found a well-discounted copy of the disc, and now will post one of my favorite songs from the Counting Crows. I will always classify the quality of this album among the greatest composed albums of all-time. The specific order of the tracks along with excellent song-writing and composition creates an ambiance unlike any other album I have heard. I will treasure this find; I have backed it up 3 times for safe keeping..... Oh Yeah, the new profile pic is me and my Mother at Red Red Canyon in Las Vegas.

I'll never forget the first time I heard Mr. Jones on the radio, I was so excited I made a beeline to the nearest record emporium and bought it straight away.

That is a feeling that is sadly missing in these times.

And I agree - a great album - a classic if you will.

    Thanks for the post!
