A Good Year For The Trailers

Confound those movie trailers. They attempt to pack 90 minutes' worth of poignancy into 2 minutes of "you gotta see this movie!!!" immediacy. Once in a great while and with the right song, they nail it. And to someone with a soft spot for music coupled with cinema, it's the emotional equivalent of a shot of Bacardi 151. So yes, I admit to getting a few goosebumps when Athlete's "Chances" was used on the trailer to the presumably hackneyed romantic feature A Good Year. Something about sweeping cinematography of Provence paired with dramatic Britpop piano chords just gets me. What can I say? Russell Crowe can act the hell out of a trailer.
