WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Portishead Mows My Lawn

Posted over 3 years ago
Of the many things that music does for me, it helps me complete meaningless chores like laundry or mowing the lawn. Today I had to mow the back yard for a final time of the season. Wasn't looking forward to it at all, but I knew that my tunes would be there to support me during my trials and tribulations. When I heard Beth Gibbons of Portishead belt out her sweat voice in the song 'Roads' I was put at ease with my tedious tasks. Thanks Portishead, for mowing my lawn.Drew

  3. Scarlett Echo says The Decemberists do my laundry AND cook dinner for me. Scissor Sisters ALWAYS tones my ass on the elliptical. Regina Spektor drives me around on errands. They're all so damn generous. It makes the price of a cd all worth it...

  4. Anonymous says EXCELLENT FUCKING POST, drewdaman. MOG.com should put this in its annual report: "see, this is the kind of cool little essays our site inspires." Right the fuck on and write the fuck on.

  5. Anonymous says Really, man, it's textbook: You used an arresting graphic and an odd, poetic headline. Then you "brought it on home" with a topic that's actually interesting, and that just about everybody can relate to. MOG friends, I offer you tough love. It does no good to declare that something is interesting to you, if your INTENTION is to interest the reader. You have to coax them, like drewdaman has just demonstrated.
