WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

The King of Country Blues

Posted 2 months ago

Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Rev Gary Davis, ... and great blues men. I had all the LP's ever cut for these men and many more. Time and fate has led them to a different place. I also liked the ragtime that some of these and a Georgia man played. I learned to play slide guitar and ragtime from some of these people. I stopped in 1984 due to personal reasons.

I have some of their mp3's on my computer. I personally knew two of the great artists in their later years.

I started learning to play the guitar from Mississippi John Hurt's many songs. They were not to complex, but engendered great feeling in me.

I thank Mississippi John Hurt, the other country and blues artists from that era. They left us a legend of emotions, history, and great guitar work.

I now write poems in 5 languages, mostly English and Spanish. I write lyriics and music. I write music to friends poems with their permission.

Mostly write what comes to me, not what I try to do, it just comes through my soul and words and music flow.
