I've been listening to a ton of new music lately. First I have a friend who's expanding my musical horizons into some new genres, as well as pointing out artists in indie rock I have egregiously overlooked, such as Wilco. Now I know that Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is amazing. Then there's been my usual search through the blogs for something new and exciting, and my biggest discovery on that front has
Just listened to the new Shins album. It's pretty crazy that this has leaked and the album's not supposed to come out until January. Really liking it so far, I think it will end up my favorite of the three.

So the latest band that I've decided is awesome is Thunderbirds Are Now! I'd describe their sound as electro dance punk, or something like that. Actually, the best description I've heard of them is caffeinated rock. They've got a lot of energy in their songs. They remind me of Hot Hot Heat in some ways. Check 'em out.
