So, we've all heard of John Mayer. "Heavier Things", "Continuum", "Room For Squares"...etc. He's pretty talented. He just seems so down to earth and like a normal guy. So far, I have been happy with the work he's done. Thankfully, The MTV crowd doesn't listen to him or they would suck him into the Super Massive Black Hole that is their shitty-ass, talentless music. =]
So as long as he doesn't fall into that black hole, I'll like his music.

Last night as I was trying to fall asleep, Wally, my Ipod, started to play "Sleep Don't Weep" by Damien Rice. This was the first time I had ever listened to this song, let alone anything Damien Rice on my Ipod.
My friend Kara had given his album "9" maybe a few months ago and raved about how awesome it was.
So needless to say, my first impression of Damien Rice is a good one.
"9" was released in November 2006 and it's sad that I am just now appreating how remarkable of an songwriter he is. I definalty need to listen to more Damien Rice before Kara continues to tell me how awesome he is.

.. oh, and make that two dollars that you owe me. :D just because we both know where its going. :3
I have been a big Death Cab For Cutie fan since about 2005. I feel like I was about four or five years late because I had to back-track to get all of their earlier music. Now that I have collected and listened to the eight albums, I have my favorites.
Off the "Transatlaniticism" album, one song has made me grateful for listening to them. "We Looked Like Giants" is the 10th song on this album and I feel it is a great transition song.
At the end of "Death of an Interior Decorater", the song ends but sounds linger in the background. Once "We Looked Like Giants" begins, the sounds become louder until the instruments take over. At the end, more sounds linger again until "Lack of Color" starts. I always liked that and thats why I think "Transatlaniticism" is my favorite Death Cab record.
Through out the whole album, songs intertwine with each other to create a dream-like feeling. The sounds and background noise add to each song but never take away. On top of them, Ben Gibbard's beautiful voice and lyrics carry the song gracefully from beginning to end. I think that is why I will always buy every Death Cab For Cutie record ever made or to be made.
That's it.
