Réplica's style is a blend of 1970s and 1980s post-punk, 1960s psychedelia, space rock, IDM, electropop and a mix of elements from different genres of electronic music. The band originally started out as an ambient project called Mongolia. Although at the beginning many defined the band as electroclash, the group's live performances now include live guitars and a drummer along with the electronic instruments. Réplica's lyrics speak about life's uncertainty and are mostly written in English, although recently some of lyrics are in Spanish.Originally, Réplica were known to perform in black military uniform-inspired outfits with red accesories, due to implications with Nazi imagery the band seems to have abandoned the military chic.Despite their low profile image and a considerable young career Réplica has managed to collaborate with Client, being compiled by DJ Hell, or remix artists such as Placebo and Zoé.
