At a conference I met and listened to an amazing band. I speak, of course, of Straight Dope Cherry. They've got awesome songs with nice classic rock feeling. A buddy of mine said they sounded a lot like Phish but I can definitely hear some Pink Floyd influence. They really awesome. Over the past few months I've been listening to the Decemberists religiously. They're really fresh different. I definitely enjoy listening to the jazz singer Rene Marie. I was never a huge fan of jazz until I saw her at festival. Her voice has emotion that I have rarely heard in many vocalists. Her music, to me, is very moving and fresh. I owe her my love of jazz.
