Beastie Boys rocked the roof off the Terminal 5 in NYC Tuesday night to a crowd of 3,000 "die-hard" fans. The trio performed a mind-blowing 25 song set which included their greatest hits plus instrumentals off The Mix Up. The show was a benefit for the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function, which incorporates music into therapy treatments of those suffering from neurological conditions, dementia, Parkinson's disease and even Alzheimer's. Judging from this report in Spinner today, it sounds like it was a fabulously fun time:
Horovitz experienced technical difficulties with what he thought was a problematic amp, but soon realized it was his guitar that wasn't working. He quickly remedied the situation, but a minute into the song, Mike "Mike D" Diamond recited the wrong words and admitted, "I f---ed up -- the second verse. I f---ed up." After a quick laugh and shrug, the vets rocked out the rest of the 'Hello Nasty' hit with ease. The rappers also set the audience off with classics like 'Root Down' and 'Sure Shot,' while inciting a mosh pit during their final song, 'Sabotage.'

Meanwhile, the vocalized version of The Mix Up is still in the works and the BBoys are heading back into the studio to begin work on their next new album. But MCA dispelled any hopes of another new release in a report on Billboard.com:
"It's all new, original," says MCA, aka Adam Yauch, "but I don't think it's gonna come out this year, no."
