Ice Cube To Cybercast SXSW Concert On Saturday

Posted about 1 year ago
As Mr. Frost pointed out in January, Ice Cube has a new album on the way and he recently started his own online tv channel called UNTV. Not merely a video channel, UNTV (which stands for U View Network Television) is capable of real-time streams of DVD quality broadcasts. Cube will put the technology to the test this Saturday when he cybercasts his SXSW concert live from Austin. Perhaps he will even play some of the tracks off his new album Raw Footage. The rapper's 9th solo album features guest appearances from Nas, Scarface, Musiq and WC. The album will be released on his own indie imprint Lench Mob Records. No word yet on the exact release date. See Billboard.com or Mr. Frost's post for more info.

  2. dj ivi says another album? I wondered that too when they re-issued an anniversary edition of Straight Outta Compton last year. But then nothing more was said about N.W.A. so I figured it wasn't going to happen. That would be sweet if they did....

  3. loganlenz says I actually know Jerry Heller (founder of Ruthless Records with Easy-E) pretty well. There are too many legal issues surrounding NWA and Ruthless Records to permit any type of reunion. if anyone is interested in a good read about the development of hip-hop on the west coast and the initiation of NWA, however, check out the book "Ruthless" by Jerry Heller.
