The Death Set, aka the MotherFuckingDeathSet, make punk music for wrecking clubs and recently signed to Counter Records (a Ninja Tune offshoot) for their new releases. The Death Set will release an EP titled MFDS on February 11th and a full album called Worldwide on April 7th.
The B-more punks cut their teeth in the east coast music scene before booking tours with Japanther, Girl Talk, Spank Rock and Pony Tail; developing their own hardcore, blast beat punk rock which they perform with wild abandon. Producer Chris Devlin (Spank Rock, Armani XXXchange) remembers their live shows fondly: "They played for 15 minutes in the middle of the floor until they blew the amps, then they spent 20 minutes smashing the shit out of everything, then they were out. Best fuckin' show I ever saw."The Counter press release describes Death Set music:

Straight out of Baltimore's burgeoning and increasingly wild music scene, The Death Set throw punk rock abandon onto warehouse dancefloors and come up with something unique - a micro-blast of catchy choruses, screamed lyrics, chaos, violence, humor and fucked-up reaffirmation of the value of going nuts. The MFDS EP features the first four songs from the forthcoming Worldwide album. Counter lists the four song titles in their description of the EP:
From the sheer bliss of their refutation of "Negative Thinking" (at two minutes sixteen, the longest track on the record) - an anthem and infection. Through the snot-punk of "Heard It All Before," on into an "Intermission" which tries to outline the unique thrill of being them ("Tape deck, Select, Burning wreck, Broken neck, Dirty speck, Bitches wet, Motherfucking Death Set") this is a group that has no qualms about taking chances, amply demonstrated by the screwed & chopped finale, "MFDS". Sip ya syzzurp and ya miss it.The Death Set have a new Danny Baxter-directed video for "Negative Thinking":
