A long long time ago, someone one MOG reported that Scarlett Johansson was holed up in a studio in the southern countryside, recording her debut solo album. What made it even more remarkable news is that Dave Sitek was at the control and Nick Z and Karen O were making noise. Allegedly, Johansson hand-chose the wonder twins to bring their magic to the project. Who wishes they were a huge horsefly on the wall of those sessions? If you want to do something right the first time round, hire Sitek, Z and O as your dream team.True to previous reports, the album features 10 Tom Waits covers and one original song. Anywhere I Lay My Head is due to be released on May 20th.
Scores of music fans caught her guest appearance with Jesus & Mary Chain at last year's Coachella on "Just Like Honey." I never found a decent video of that song, so I couldn't even tell if that was her on stage. (Floppy hat, baggy clothes) Did anyone catch it live? How was it?News via LiveDailyThe title of Scarlett J's debut comes from a Tom Waits song on his 1985 LP Rain Dogs.
