Thrill Jockey Signs Boredoms, Set To Release 1st Live Recording & More

Posted about 1 year ago
Thrill Jockey just signed the Boredoms for all their label needs outside of Japan. The first release will be the Super Roots 9, a live recording of the Boredoms with a 20-person choir in Japan on Christmas Eve 2004. This will be the first official live recording of the Boredoms to be released! Of course the sleeve will feature artwork by eYe, and a press release states that all the upcoming releases will feature custom designs by the band itself. Thrill Jockey says:
Singles, special limited editions, along with albums will all be packaged in special custom designs by the Boredoms. Our focus will be to deliver ther records and the concepts behind the music in highly collectable formats of the band's design. We will do so while also making the records available at a domestic price, and on formats, such as 320 bit-rate DRM-free downloads, not previously explored by the band.
In addition to regular music stores, you will also be able to purchase the album directly from the band on their tour this year. As previously reported, the band will be playing "in the round" with the audience in the middle, surrounded by the band. Aledgedly, they will also be performing with the Sevener: a 7-neck guitar!!!!!!!For tour dates, scope this MOG post or ThrillJockey.comBoredoms live in Denmark 2007:
