Posted about 4 years ago
Any Breeders fans in the house? Perhaps their last album in 2002 left you hesitant to respond, after all, who can get excited about something called Title TK? Well, Kim Deal and sister Kelley Deal, along with Jose Medeles and Mando Lopez are hoping to win back fans with a new album next April! (Apparently Tanya Donnelly is not Breeding anymore) And this time, it has a name that just resonates excitement: Mountain Battles! The album was recorded by 4 different engineers in 4 different studios, including master Steve Albini in Chicago, and it will be released on April 7th in UK/8th in US by 4AD. It is said to capture "all the bittersweet electricity of classic Breeders records like Pod and Last Splash, and which breaks new ground at the same time; classic sounding, yet as relevant and exciting as ever." According to the band's my$pace page:
Mountain Battles is another product of the All Wave recording process. It was made during 2006 and 2007 at a variety of studios and with a variety of people. It's an album which captures all the bittersweet electricity of classic Breeders records like Pod and Last Splash, and which breaks new ground at the same time; classic, yet as relevant and exciting as ever.

  1. deadmandeadman says Its so difficult to catch lightning in a bottle twice. One tires of over-the-hill "stars" reuniting with old bandmates, (usually when their solo careers are in the toilet,) to rehash old music and wring a few bucks, yet again, out of a dated body of work. That having been said, It would be great if The Breeders could live up to/expand upon the timeless brittle beauty of their first two cds. ~yQBg4bhhaty.mp3~
