New Autechre Album Due In 2008

Though you wouldn't know it by looking at their official website, Autechre have a new album in the works. The experimental electronica duo haven't updated their own site since the release of Untitled in 2005, but FACT Magazine received news that Autechre will release their 8th album in March of 2008. The new album is titled Quaristice and will be released on March 3rd, presumably on WARP Records. FACT Mag also mentioned that Autechre have one live show scheduled for March 10th in Poland and it seems likely that many more dates will be announced in support of the new album. I used to be an avid collector of Autechre records, from their debut in 1993 until around 2003, when their sound became a little too computer-sequenced for my tastes. I enjoyed Untitled, but wasn't in the record-buying mood when it came out. I can't wait to hear the new album, I have a feeling that it will be one of their best and inspire the record-collector in me once again.http://www.autechre.ws/The band somehow managed to make a my$pace page as mental as their music.
