Interpol Release Official Live EP Only Through Independents

Posted about 4 years ago
Interpol announced that they have released a 6-song live recording today that is only available from independent music stores. The tracks were recorded at the band's powerful performance in July at London's Astoria club and they are the first official live recordings of Interpol. Does this mean the iTunes exclusive Live Sessions EP in 2005 was not an offical release? The album is called INTERPOL LIVE and it is being sold exclusively through thinkindie.com, which reportedly represents the best independent music stores in America. A press release from the band states that, "Thinkindie.com services independent music retailers with exclusive and rare items that are not available via major chain and big-box stores." Sounds cool.2 of the 6 songs on INTERPOL LIVE, "Obstacle 1" and "Stella Was a Diver And She Was Always Down," are from their 2002 debut Turn On the Bright Lights. The other 4 are from their most recent album Our Love To Admire: "Pioneer to The Falls," "Mammoth," "Rest My Chemistry," and "The Heinrich Maneuver."INTERPOL LIVE EP Tracklist:1. 1. vincentvega2387 says Well if you want to be technical about it there is also a recording out there called "Black Sessions" which is live and features primarily all of Turn on the Bright Lights. No matter if it's major label stores or not people who want to get it will find a way, though it's a nice step in the write direction. Anybody know if they are planning more dates after South America? I need a fix again...
