Diplo And Switch Recording New Album At Tuff Gong In Jamaica

Posted over 2 years ago
The infamous Philly-based beat meister Diplo and UK house/bass producer Switch have each assisted M.I.A. to create the sick riddims that she sings over. Diplo produced a lot of the music on Arular and Switch traveled all over the globe with M.I.A. to help her record the songs for Kala. They've been on tour together for awhile now and they look like they have a lot of fun together. Lucky for us, they are working on an album together! Diplo went to Jamaica to record dancehall's superstar deejays (rappers) for the new project. I can't wait to hear these tunes, they're going to be wiiiiiiiicked!! Diplo and Switch's bumpin electro-influenced dancehall-hip hop hybrids with the thick Jamaican patois we have come to know and love rapping all over it? Sounds perfect!I'm still searching for more info about the forthcoming album, like what they will call it, album art, etc. Diplo revealed that they recorded in the notorious Tuff Gong Studio with Elephant Man, Turbulence, T.O.K., Gyptian and my girl Tanya Stephens! In the meantime, XLR8R Mag interviewed Diplo to get the scoop. There's a fab video of that interview, but unfortunately, it has a character in the embed code that MOG's text editor doesn't understand. Therefore, you'll have to jump over to the video page itself to watch. But trust me, it's worth it!Diplo and Switch on XLR8R tvhttp://www.myspace.com/diplohttp://www.myspace.com/switchandsolidgrooveAlso, Vice Magazine caught up with Elephant Man in the Bad Boy studios not long ago and interviewed him for VBS.tv
