WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

The Shins Record Little Boxes For Weeds

Posted over 2 years ago
I'm not sure if any fans of the television show Weeds would want to listen to its theme song for fun. The theme song is a bit too catchy and gets stuck in your head for ever. But for those who are not regular viewers of the show, you might love the new version by The Shins. It's the most in-thing for tv shows these days: to have the theme song covered by different bands each season. Musicians who have covered the Weeds theme previously include Angelique Kidjo, Billy Bob Thorton, and Randy Newman. You can listen to The Shins' take on the catchy pop song as it streams from the series' website:Weeds - Homegrown Series websiteJames Mercer says that the band had a "great time recording this" and "The song is one that I can very much identify with and a natural fit for the band."Sweet! You know, anyone can submit their cover of the theme song for a chance to win $10,000 and your song featured at the intro of the show. So, learn that tune, and submit via the Homegrown home page.Meanwhile, David Duchovny has returned to television and has a role in the new Season of Weeds as well as his own series called Californication. Check out the trailer for the new season of Weeds (or other videos from precious moments in the show) on the Homegrown home page
