So I guess this is where I talk about the music I'm listening to?I recently went back in time about 4 years and discoverd a load of old mix cds from my youth, things like "Calafornia" the popular OC theme, but when it was used on that film Orange County with Colin Hanks, I own that film actually, I don't think I'd enjoy it too much these days. So with this discovery came a renewed love for a little something called emo, that's right, my tickets to Brand New are booked up and I'm awaiting delivery, I've aquired 3 of their albums in a week, I remember back in the day when I tried to get into them and I just thought they were a poor man's Taking Back Sunday, not anymore, especially since TBS' "Louder Now" is nothing like their older and better stuff.It's been a while since I've actually written about music, it was a big dream of mine to be a music journalist, so I wrote for a magazine and webzine, then I started my degree and became disillusioned in a BIG way. I'm now an English Lit girl and like I said, don't write about music anymore.So...what else?I booked my tickets for Damien Rice as well this week, this excites me more than anything in the world...ever. It's in October mind, but hopefully the time will wizz by and it'll be here before I know it. He's playing Newcastle Arena, which is basically an ugly concrete block, it's a mystery to me why he didn't play the Gateshead Sage (BEAUTIFUL venue) but there that is, hopefully he'll manage to sound great anyway.A few weeks ago I went to see Joanna Newsom at the Gateshead Sage and I don't know why I've mentioned it as there are no words to describe how perfect the gig was. The Nothern Symfonia were amazing, like nothing I've heard before and they complimented her perfectly. She is an artist I urge anyone to check out.Well that was easier than I thought.Best go and get ready for uni.xxx
