Hello readers...it's been a while since my last post.  I've now left education forever (from that you can correctly assume that I did not get into the place I wanted to for September), formed a brand new life plan, got a promotion (of sorts) in my current job, and have only written one more short story.

There are gigs though....there is Glastonbury in TWO WEEKS TIME with a line up that looks like it would probably taste better than chocolate, then there is the Black Kids the very next day after Glastonbury in Bristol, should be fun.

Like most of my posts, this is another off topic one, in that it's not strictly about music or recommendations in the musical field.  I finally got my hands on Factory Girl the other day and watched it.  I thought it was really quite good, I'm not a particularly arty person so for all I know it could be a totally inaccurate film in terms of biography, but I really liked it, Edie's clothes, style, confidence, so good to watch.  I do recommend it to anyone who quite likes the 60s :)

Sorry, this post has been of little worth!

I'm still listening to The National as if they were going out of fashion tomorrow!!!!

Hope life on the other side is grand :)

Hello, today I'm off to Bristol to visit my sister. Lots of travelling to do, train, plane then bus. So, what kind of music do you all listen to when you travel?

I enjoy the following: Interpol - Turn on the bright lights. Beirut The National (but I'm currently listening to them all the time anyway!).

We're going to see a british comedian tonight called Simon Amstell (he's the current presenter of Never Mind THE Buzzcocks) and I'm so excited as he was really funny at Leeds Festival last year.

No news from the MA Uni yet, apparently my application is "pending at the school" so...could be any day now, could be next month, with any luck their timing of rejection will fall in time for Glastonbury to cheer me up!

(Oh and I light to listen to Frou Frou when I'm going up the escalator in the airport, it's right next to massive open glass-ness so you can see pretty far out to Newcastle, it feels like I'm in Garden State, hahaha!)

Very nice assortment of traveling music. I think my travel picks depend on where I'm going. When I flew to California in the summer I had Bob Marley with me. When I flew to London I had Joy Division. I haven't traveled so long as I've had Beirut. I bet that would be sooo nice to listen to while staring out a train window.

Tonight I have been listening to a lot of old mix cds that were made around the time of being 16 (I remember a lot about that age - sneaky drinks at my friend's house while he burned us all cds as he was one of the first who could actually do them (sign of the times!), spending my Saturday in a horrible bakery with people I hated and not even earning much!). Anyway songs like... Something Corporate - Punk Rock Princess - what a great band - there is a part of my brain just dedicated to them now, I can remember all of the lyrics to most of the songs - doesn't feel like over five years since I went to that gig! Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight, amazing song, I think everyone must know it, it's one of those songs that when it's on you have wonderful thoughts and when it finished you must repeat it to continue these thoughts! Hundred Reasons - Silver - I used to dance about my bedroom to this song, one of their best. They are quite emo, but I'll let them off for that one ;) Sugababes - Overload - reminds me of the old layout in my house - the first computer we had and the unreliable dial up internet that would always disconnect just as an msn conversation turned interesting!

that's all I can think of now. I'm still listening to adele - hometown glory too much and waiting to hear if this university wants me. hohum.
