While I thoroughly enjoyed the New Pornographers this last weekend, I had a much more enjoyable time at the LCD Soundsystem/Arcade Fire show at Red Rocks. Red Rocks is always a good venue, but this one was really special.LCD started the show.I've always enjoyed them and have their most recent album, but they are so much better live. They have a raw, energetic power that just doesn't translate as well on a polished studio effort. I'm nearly 40 now and have been to hundreds of shows and LCD was by far one of the best.Arcade Fire was superb as well, but I didn't enjoy them as much as LCD and I thought it would be the reverse. Arcade had great energy and were thoroughly humbled to be there. I've never seen a band more appreciative of their audience. After seeing these bands, as well as the New Pornographers, I can't help but wonder if we're going through a 'Canadian Invasion' in music right now. Everytime I find a new band I like, they turn out to be Canadian.
